Writer/Performer/Producer/Promoter Divinity Rose is releasing and signing copies of Diaries of a Godling: The Promise on March 14,2010 from 12:34 pm – 2:34 pm at The Great Escape on Bardstown Road in Louisville, Kentucky. This is the first graphic novel in her Diaries of a Godling series.
Divinity is a poet/performer with an unusual background including foster homes, teenage homelessness, abuse and more. She is now known for her writing/performing in Louisville and also for creating, producing Sub Rosa: The Gypsie Courtyard, which has become a staple in the Louisville arts and entertainment scene. She also speaks to high schools, colleges, and other groups about the creative process and creating your dreams. As she found her way to creating her own identity, she wanted to be able to encourage others in doing so by sharing her journey. The Diaries of a Godling series allows her to share the many things she loves (art, photography, poetry, collage) as she shares the lessons that have led her out of her nightmares and into her dreams.
The term “Godling” comes from the idea of a baby spirit learning to grow up. Like a gosling who aspires to fly, finding the way to ruling your own world can be an awkward process. The books are like scrap books of her writings, memories, art, and visions. As the series progresses, a story unfolds. The story blossoms in more than one medium, though. She is also releasing online videos that are a part of an online game that invites readers/viewers to solve puzzles to move further through the pathways of her mind/spirit.

To celebrate the release, Divinity is producing a show at the Comedy Caravan that night (3/14) called Poets, Prophets, and Punks, which includes the debut of her band Sagun and performances by Ron Whitehead, William F Devault, Truth B. Told, Touch Armor Class, Jimmy Besseck, Huh Robots, Revenge of Ricky Williams, Lot 13, and the live debut of 9-year-old actress and singer/songwriter Rhyan Sprague from Richmond, Ky. Tickets are available for $10 ahead of time at The Great Escape or Ear-X-Tacy. Admission will be $15 day of show.

Yesterday, I rode to Lagrange, Ky with Norm. Norm is my "go to guy" - a producer, an art director, a camera man, a talented artist and clearly a male. At least, I'm pretty sure he is. I mean... I've never checked to be sure. Sometimes it's hard to tell gender in the Artist species, but he shows all the usual male markings, and his obstinate insistence in using unnecessary technology further confirms my suspicions.
We headed down to Lagrange, Kentucky to check out a farm for our upcoming video, "The Dead Walk the Earth". This is the first video that will be released on Diaries of a Godling. We're all uber excited. You are, too. I can tell! My super psychic senses are tingling.

So, lately, I've been thinking about how I've spent a good amount of time in my life thinking I was a boob: a real screw up. It is mostly because anytime I'd stick my neck out, share myself, or try something new, I'd be told I was doing something wrong or screwing up. I probably was at times, but mistakes can be the best teachers. Everyone feels this way at some point, but they don't usually talk about it. This leads to most of us feeling alone in our supposed “lack of excellence”. I've come to a point where I'm really determined to not let anyone or anything make me feel bad about myself. We are fabulous. Yep. It's time to shiiiiiiiiiiiiiine in 2009.
The real test of strength is to see if you can overcome the voice within and without that accuses you of being a screw up and be the beautiful dream that your heart whispers to you. Remember my writings on spirits being unique patterns that energy can flow in? (Thought patterns within us). Well, the one that flows in a pattern that feels accusatory is the one we call SATAN! That's what Satan means. It cames from the Hebrew word “Satan' el” or the arabic word “Shatain”, which both mean “accuser” or “to accuse”.
If you'll notice the spelling of Satanel, it is similar to Michael, Raphael, Uriel – all “El's”, all parts of the divine. However, it is said in the 2nd book of Enoch that Satanel knew the difference between right and wrong, and was cast from Heaven. Sound familiar? Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and were cast from Paradise. The part of the divine that wanders the earth is the part that worries over right/wrong and is plagued with doubt. Doubt can not exist in heaven. You can not exist in the state of paradise if you are busy doubting yourself or warring over whether you are doing something right or wrong. These are the things that keep our heart's desires from becoming our reality.
If you've read my previous laments on being well endowed, you'll understand the title. It's titled They said I was a boob...Or did they say 'nice boobs'? I hope you enjoy this humorous spiel on self acceptance. May it lead you to enjoying your own moments of boob-dom a little more. From this point forward, I know that you will hear the voice for what it is and say "Awww, silly Satan", and go about the business of creating your paradise.

know what is going on in thousands of people's heads, but do you know
what is going on in yours? With online status updates, you can know
what is happening all over the world, but what is happening in your
world right now? What do you want? What do you wish? How can you make
it happen?
Spirit is always speaking. It just
won't shut up. Its chatter is everywhere. The answers are all there,
all the time. We're surrounded by them. So, I guess you should
figure out exactly what it is that you want to know.
I was asked to speak to a college class
Monday night, and it was quite an awesome experience. The teacher
asked me what people can do when they're surrounded by babble boxes
all the time. (Televisions, radio, and other media).
My answer: turn them off.
Just ten minutes a day of quiet can allow you to still yourself and
begin to hear more of your own guiding voice. We have to learn to
turn down the
“public haunt”.
