I love this place. I am a huge fan of the herpaquarium and lorikeet landing. *bit of advice though....the lorikeets love bracelets!*
I hear they are going to have Big Bad Voodoo Daddy in for a show in a month or so....that's awesome. I do recomend that if you are low on cash or just hate spending the extra cash...eat before you go. The food here is absolutely rediculous!
I hate that the elephants, the largest animals at the zoo, have the smallest area. I feel that part really needs to improve.
All in all though, I feel that it is a fun experience for the family.

C'mon now, everyone loves the zoo. Weird exotic animals, great people-watching, and always a good walk. Plus the ROARchestra shows that the Louisville Orchestra puts on in July at the zoo are always fun.
Worth the trip for the Naked Molerats alone.

I love the Louisville Zoo. I will have to disagree that it looks the same as 10 years ago. They've added quite a few new animals and habitats there over the years and are now updating the Polar Bear exhibit with a splash zone as well as a really cool new walkway for the bears. I can't wait to see this new addition.
My kids and I have a membership and we go often. The kids love it, as well as do I. Can't really beat having a zoo within 2 miles of my home!
It's also a great place to just take a walk. They actually have a walkers club that meets every morning there.

I just can't give it more than 3 stars due to the fact that the place looks the same as it did 10 years ago. They have added a few new areas, but need to do a little maintenance.

I love the zoo. Only problem is I never get there enough. No one ever wants to go....& I don't want to go by myself.

I have a membership here and go as often as possible. It's a great place to go walking in the mornings, when the animals are out and there are hardly any people. It's just a relaxing place. Check out the latest edition, Lorikeet Landing... these cute and colorful birds will actually land on you! Also, a baby elephant was recently born on property. How cute does it get?
