Village 8 Theatres was purchased in August of 1996. A landmark in St. Matthews in Dupont Village, Village 8 was renovated and updated with new floors, seats, carpet, tile and screens which aided in its transformation to a clean, family friendly environment that shows quality films at an affordable price. The Village 8 continues to be Louisville's only 'discount house' operating at full schedule seven days a week, three-hundred sixty-five days a year. The theaters range in seating capacity from 77 to 189 to accommodate special events and shows.

	· August 3, 2007 ~RainbowPassion~ says: I like this place because of the discounted rates. It's not the fanciest place to go, but what do you expect for $3 and $4 movies? Tuesdays are $2 all day. And the movies are not outrageously old. Definitely recommended for a nice date without the crowd of the bigger theaters or when you just want to do something different by yourself.
